How To Communicate With The Public:
Participants were equally divided on this issue. Some thought television, some thought newspapers, but all agreed that mailings would not be helpful. They generally agreed that what they hear now is always negative.
· Agencies do not publicize themselves well enough to let the public know the good things they’re doing.
· If they were telling people what they were doing, then we wouldn’t all be so concerned when we hear that they’re messing up.
· They don’t get credit for the cases they do handle well.
Some participants also said that when you do not hear anything about the agencies, positive or negative, you might wonder if they are trying to hide something.
